Well, today is Rusty's birthday, and for the first time in his now 38 years, I am unable to talk to him ... a little bit sad, but knowing the work he is doing, a sacrafice worth making ... So, from Mackenzie and Me to Rusty "Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday Uncle Rusty, Happy Birthday to you" Mackenzie sang while I typed, so at 7:50 pm in Rwanda and 1:50 pm in KY, someone was singing to you Rusty ... I hope you had a warm and fuzzy feeling and know how much you are loved! I'm going to blog so that you can keep up with what is going on with us ...
The fridge came yesterday and works, so I'm happy. There was minimal food lost, so that was good. I hadn't been to the grocery since Rusty, Mom and Di left to restock yet. What a blessing! The soccer game, on the other hand, was not a good thing. We were a few minutes late with the delivery of the fridge. The put Mackenzie in right away as goalie and within 2 minutes, she got a ball to the chest and it shook her up. She pretty much didn't get into the rest of the game very much. We rested a while before she went to a birthday party at the park. Nothing like screaming 7 and 8 year olds to make me thankful the party was outside, lol. It was a Hannah Montanna explosion. It was a little akward for me because the birthday girl and the guests were all students of mine (except Mackenzie). It was hard to make small talk with the parents. They were wanting to talk about school, ugh! Erma put Zoe in the stroller and walked to the park, so that was a nice distraction. Mackenzie is reading a chapter book all by herself now, and doesn't want my help. She just grows up way too fast.
Church was fantastic today. We are starting a series on 1 Peter, so listen to it when you get the chance. Well, I have laundry and dishes to do before I start on supper. I want to be able to fold when the Pittsburgh game comes on at 4:15 ...
Love,
Heather and Mackenzie

Sister,
Yes, those were thorns on that one tree. There's a lot of stuff here with thorns. Any plans for the UM game this weekend?
